1940s Fumahasi “Best Quality” Ivory Silk Brocade Swing Jacket & Matching Pouch Purse

A stunner of postwar Asian-influenced glamour — this ivory jacquard swing coat is woven all over with a silvery landscape of pagodas, pine, and flowing rivers, the kind of fabric that shifts and shimmers with every turn. The mandarin collar and dramatic swing silhouette close with hand-knotted frog fastenings in a lush floral rosette design, doubled at both collar and bust. Deep set-in pockets and a generous, breezy cut make this as wearable as it is beautiful. The coordinating drawstring pouch purse, crafted from the same brocade, is the kind of thoughtful matched-set detail that rarely survives intact.
