A dreamy confection of apricot lace and ivory tulle, this circa 1955–1960 party dress is pure glamour. The strapless boned bodice is constructed in floral Chantilly-style lace with a scalloped sweetheart bustline and gathered bust cups. The voluminous skirt layers apricot lace over a full crinoline-supported ivory tulle underskirt, with the lace falling in a handkerchief-style scalloped hem that reveals billowing tulle beneath. The back view shows a clean center zip and a graceful lace peplum panel cascading over the skirt. I believe someone added the pleated tulle straps for the sake of modesty. The dress can be worn strapless as well. Interior construction is equally considered: a boned, lined bodice and original metal zipper up the back. In excellent condition, freshly cleaned and ready to wear.
