A stunning relic from the 1920's, similar in style to dresses made by Chanel during this period. Featuring a black Chantilly lace overdress with black sequins worn over a silk slip foundation. The lace is worked in tiered scalloped garlands that cascade from bustline to hem, shifting from a dotted net at the shoulders into denser floral scallops below, all sewn with tiny sequins that catch the light with movement. The dropped-waist silhouette and calf-grazing hem are pure 1920s, but it’s the trim at the shoulder that make this dress exceptional — long, sheer lace panels that fall loose from the shoulder rather than following the arm, drifting free at the sides in the same scalloped manner as the skirt. The dress itself snaps at the upper left shoulder for easy getting on and off. In overall excellent condition, clean and ready to wear.

Condition: overall excellent, minor signs of wear typical of age including some tiny holes in the lace, only noticed upon close inspection. Her silk slip is shockingly well preserved. Wears and presents just like the pictures.
