The late 50's little black dress at its most poetic. A sweetheart-cut silk bodice — structured, boned, and sharply fitted through the waist — is veiled by a sheer silk organza illusion yoke that floats to a high round neck and cap sleeves, giving the dress its signature dressed-up propriety over unmistakable drama. The back mirrors the effect with a deep illusion V, baring just enough. Below the waist, the skirt erupts in asymmetrically tiered organza flounces — full and airy at front, cascading to a narrower underskirt — a silhouette that reads both balletic and boldly modern. The lining detail in image five reveals superb construction: a silk taffeta underlayer with hook-and-eye waist closures securing the snap-back skirt, original metal back zipper. Unlabeled, but the workmanship is custom or high-end ready-to-wear caliber. So chic! In excellent condition, freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear.
