Astounding Early 1960's Ivory Shantung Silk Evening Coat With Pleated Floral Lining / SM
A B O U T
Utterly astounding early 1960's couture made evening coat in ivory silk shantung and lined in a pleated silk floral print. The sheer amount of work that went into creating this piece is truly mind blowing. The interior features multiple rows of pleated silk, backed by silk chiffon and lined in an additional silk lining. The coat sits firmly on the shoulders and flares to the hem forming an elegant trapeze silhouette. Every thing about this coat screams couture. If only I knew who made it. According to the previous owner it originally had belonged to a famous opera singer. In overall excellent condition, freshly cleaned and ready to wear.

Bust: up to 38”/ shoulders: 16"
Waist: open
Hips: open
Length: 40"
Fits like a small to medium ( too small for me otherwise I’d keep it!)
Label: none present
Material: shantung silk outer, silk and silk chiffon lining
Condition: overall excellent, interior is perfect. Exterior of coat has some minor signs of wear, as well as an area along the hem that appears to have been subject to some tape, probably used to keep it closed. Very faint spots, only noticeable upon close inspection. See close up picture. Wears and presents fabulously!
