Utterly spectacular 1950's couture evening dress in radiant copper silk chiffon. This exquisite early 50's dress features a classic fit and flare silhouette with nipped waist, boned sweetheart bodice, sheer cap sleeves and full skirt. What makes this piece so extraordinary is how the silk is pleated and woven to form a textile resembling a woven basket weave. Backed by a stiff cotton muslin underskirt, while the bodice is lined in silk taffeta and stays in place with the help of boning and a grosgrain waist stay. This dress screams designer- looks like it could be by any number of prominent midcentury designers, but alas has no label. Zips up the side with original metal zipper. In overall excellent condition, freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear.
