Another piece I swore I would never part with and from the same person that owned the Adele Simpson face dress. 

This rare late 1940's Nettie Rosenstein day-into-evening dress is rendered in a bold Fauvist-inflected print — sweeping abstract forms in chartreuse, pink, aqua, lavender, and burnt orange, animated with loose calligraphic black brushwork that reads like a Matisse canvas set in motion. The fabric has the luminous drape and subtle sheen of fine silk, moving beautifully with the full skirt.
The silhouette is quintessentially 1940s: a fitted, nipped waist, wide square neckline with soft pleating across the bodice front, and flutter-style short sleeves that frame the shoulders with gentle volume. The skirt is cut with extraordinary sweep, flaring dramatically from the waist — a swirl of color and movement that photographs like a dream. Original Metal zipper up the side, along with a grosgrain waist stay. 
Nettie Rosenstein dressed Eleanor Roosevelt, the Duchess of Windsor, and generations of well-heeled American women, and her label remains among the most coveted in serious vintage collecting. In excellent condition, honestly appears to have never been worn.
