Rare 1930's Eisenberg & Sons Irma Kirby Red Silk Faille Evening Dress With Chantilly Lace
👋 A B O U T
An exquisite and extremely rare piece of fashion history, designed by Irma Kirby for the legendary Eisenberg & Sons label in the 1930's. Pieces by this designer are rarely seen and highly coveted. According to an advertisement from the 1930's "every model is hand cut, hand draped, hand trimmed and finished under the supervision of this practical designer." (source theeisenbergproject.com from a 1934 print ad.)
The gown itself is made of crimson red silk faille and topped with layer upon layer of black Chantilly lace. There are ties at the waist and buttons up the back. The lace joins at the back of the neck with a snap. Please see details on condition below. We will repair the small breaks in the lace.
I imagine this making the most incredible red wedding dress, and would love to see it paired with an antique black Chantilly lace veil. Can you imagine how fantastic that would look?

Fits like a modern size 0-2
Label: Eisenberg and Sons Designed by Irma Kirby
Material: silk faille, French Chantilly lace
Condition: Very good with some minor signs of age including a couple small holes on the faille, please see close up pictures. There are two dark dime sized smudges at the hip, it looks like dye bleed from the lace. A couple small breaks in the lace that we will repair. We have not had this gown dry cleaned, I fear my cleaners would cause more harm than good. That being said, it is in remarkably clean condition, virtually no wear to the armpits. I do not think this gown was worn. The gown does have an old gown smell to it, not strong but it does smell faintly of attic and moth balls and cedar chest.
our professional seamstress inspects and repairs every item to make sure the item is perfect before shipping.
