An ethereal survivor of the late 1920s, this drop-waist chiffon dress carries a hand-tatted needle lace capelet across the shoulders and back — an intricate, workshop-quality piece of lacework, not machine trim, with scalloped edges, and a floral medallion. The lace sits over a soft, fluid silk chiffon printed in a muted floral of dusty mauve, apricot, and periwinkle against a warm taupe-brown ground. 

The top ties at the front neckline while the flutter sleeves echo the cape’s soft movement. The drop waist releases into a flared, handkerchief-inspired hem with a scalloped chiffon edge, giving the skirt a dancing quality in motion. The dress is fully lined throughout, which has helped preserve the fragile silk beautifully — the chiffon shows lovely resilience for its age, in excellent condition for it's age.

Condition: Overall excellent, very clean, sturdy and wearable. There is one stain on the interior of the slip about the size of a eraser head on a pencil. Not at all visible when worn.  Wears and presents beautifully. A rare, collectable piece.
