A rare and exquisitely feminine example of 1950s demi-couture from New York label Harvey Berin, this blush-toned halter dress captures the era’s fascination with boudoir-inspired eveningwear translated into couture day and bridal silhouettes.

The bodice is masterfully constructed in finely pleated silk chiffon, shaped into a deep halter neckline and overlaid with delicate, lingerie-style lace appliqué that recalls mid-century corselet and brassiere design. A line of covered buttons traces the center front, emphasizing the sculpted waist and lending the piece an intimate, underpinned sensibility characteristic of Berin’s demi-couture workmanship.

From the waist, the skirt releases into a full, ballet-like sweep of whisper-light pleated chiffon, its hem encircled with softly scalloped lace motifs that echo the bodice ornamentation.
