Leonard Paris Metallic Brocade Off-Shoulder Ballgown, circa late 70's early 80's

Pure evening drama from the house of Leonard Paris — a sweeping ballgown woven in a shimmering metallic brocade of jade, gold, and amethyst. Diagonal ribbon stripes of scrolling florals cascade across the bodice, then shift into a chevron formation down the voluminous skirt, creating a dramatic sense of movement as the fabric catches the light. The off-the-shoulder neckline is framed by dramatic balloon sleeves, while the fitted bodice gives way to a full, sweeping skirt with a back zip closure.

Leonard Paris, one of amy all time favorite labels — became popular in the ’60s and ’70s for its exuberant, jewel-toned border prints — brought the same painterly sensibility to this metallic brocade that made its silk jersey knits so collectible. A showstopping piece for anyone who wants to make an entrance. Even better in person!
