A dramatic princess-line evening coat in black velvet, cut to the late-1930s ideal of a nipped waist and strong shoulders. The sleeve heads are gathered into soft puffs, a nod to the 1890s that was fashionable in the later '30s. The sleeve caps and tall standing collar are embroidered in radiating gold sequin lines on the velvet. The front closes at the waist with a single large faceted black glass button and velvet-covered loops, and the coat skims the body to a flared, ankle grazing hem. It is lined in ivory rayon, diamond-quilted for warmth, and carries the woven label of Portland, Oregon's Fashion Cloak & Suit Co. I would say its in good condition overall with signs of wear but wears and presents beautifully.

Condition:  very good overall with minor signs of wear typical of age. Dings and light spots on the back of the velvet below the waist- only noticed under bright light. Wears and presents beautifully.
