An absolutely gorgeous 1920s cloche, hand-plaited in fine straw braid with a soft coral-peach crown that deepens to dusty mauve-pink at the brim. The brim is faced in silk  — a radiant pink violet tone on the underside — giving the hat a luxe finish where it would catch the eye when tilted back. A large velvet flower in shaded rose-to-fuchsia tones, with a hand-stitched orange-gold center, is mounted at the left side, anchored by a matching grosgrain-style band circling the crown. The interior is lined in a soft peach silk, gathered at the head-fitting band — typical of period millinery construction, built directly onto a buckram or wire foundation rather than a modern hat body. In excellent condition, beautifully preserved for the past century. A rare find indeed!
