Absolutely stunning Dior influenced black taffeta party dress with a dramatically full bubble-hem skirt, the silhouette that defined 1950s festive dressing at its most exuberant. The bodice is clean and simple: scoop neck, sleeveless, fitted through the waist, with a large self-fabric bow at the back hip. The skirt is voluminous and gathered, embroidered in cotton thread with stylized Jacobean florals in copper and terracotta, the motifs concentrating toward the hem before the fabric tucks back into the bubble. Cotton embroidery on taffeta is a lovely combination — the matte thread reads beautifully against the crisp sheen of the ground. Zips up the back with original zipper. Lined interior. In overall excellent condition, clean and ready to wear.

Condition:  very good overall, minor signs of wear including minor ombre like fading to the embroidery on the side of the skirt which originally I thought was on purpose, a tiny hole near the shoulder seam- only noticed upon close inspection. Wears and presents beautifully.
