A cocktail dress that announces itself. This late 1950s silk sheath by Frank R. Jelleff Inc. of Washington, D.C. is printed with oversized poppies in vivid violet and olive — bold, painterly, and entirely of its moment. The cut is classically hourglass: boned bodice, ruched waist, double spaghetti straps, and a dramatic hip-level bow that reads as sculptural from every angle. The silk has a luminous hand that makes the print feel almost three-dimensional. Fully lined interior, zips up the back with original metal zipper. In excellent condition, freshly cleaned and ready to wear.
