Dan Millstein was a high-end suit and dress maker in New York during the 40's, 50's and 60's. Post WWII he traveled to Paris to attend the couture shows. There he met  and developed relationships with Christian Dior, Pierre Cardin, Balmain and Balenciaga. He would buy a few pieces from their collections to take home and replicate for the American market with their permission. Millstein sourced only the finest fabrics from around the globe. He as well as Lilli Ann sourced much of their fabric from France through Blin & Blin.  

Our Millstein coat looks similar to pieces by Balenciaga and features a chic double breasted front, long raglan style sleeves, side pockets and side slits. Made of the most buttery wool or cashmere blend- you've never felt anything so soft in a rich chocolate brown. Fully lined satin interior. In excellent condition, freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear.
