An iconic 1930s evening gown in rich aubergine crepe, this rare piece beautifully reflects the era’s Art Deco and modernist sensibility. The elongated, fluid silhouette is balanced by dramatic bishop sleeves that split and gather into bold silver leather cuffs, creating a sleek, architectural contrast emblematic of late-Deco design. A wide silver leather belt crisply defines the waist, reinforcing the gown’s streamlined geometry.

The softly draped front and deep scooped back add movement and quiet sensuality, while the saturated color and metallic accents speak to the refined glamour of the late 1930s, when Deco elegance merged with modern minimalism. The presence of the I. Magnin & Co. label further elevates the piece—Magnin was renowned for offering the finest couture-level garments in America, synonymous with exceptional quality and sophisticated taste. Snaps discreetly up the side, with bra strap holders and a layer of silk chiffon backing the bodice. In excellent condition, freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear.
