A masterclass in wartime ingenuity. This early 1940s two-piece in navy rayon crepe delivers the decade’s signature silhouette — pronounced padded shoulders, nipped waist, and a graceful A-line skirt with expert hip seaming — while keeping every inch of fabric working hard.
The cream net and lace trim does the heavy lifting decoratively: a ruffled collar with a self-fabric navy bow at the neckline, and matching ruffled cuffs at the wrists. It’s a classic wartime solution — when fabric was rationed, a carefully placed flourish of net transformed a practical dress into an occasion.

The skirt snaps up the side. Both pieces are in excellent condition, freshly cleaned and ready to wear.
