Breathtaking 1960's Wedding Gown In Pina Silk From The Philipines / XS
š A B O U T
A breathtaking 1960's era wedding dress from the Philipines, this custom bridal gown is built on ivory piƱa silk ā the legendary luxury textile woven from pineapple leaf fibers, prized for its crisp hand and natural luminosity. Over it, an entire overlay of hand-embroidered floral guipure: continuous satin-stitch cording worked into scrolling daisy medallions that read as lacework but are entirely needle-built, with no woven lace ground. The high collar is the densest passage, worked in cutwork with the embroidery forming its own structure. Dimensional raised flowers are centered with clusters of iridescent faux pearl teardrops ā a classically Filipino bridal touch ā with individual pearls dotting the scrollwork throughout. The silhouette is a sleek column that flares into a full chapel train; the back closes with a long run of fabric-covered buttons. The interior is lined in cotton. In overall very good condition, freshly cleaned and ready to wear.Ā
