A dramatic black evening gown from the 1930s, cut from  rayon crepe with a deep pebbled texture and finished with rich silk velvet at the shoulders, collar, and waist. The dolman-style sleeves flow into a pointed velvet collar framing a plunging surplice neckline, while a wide velvet waistband cinches the silhouette before releasing into a long, pleated skirt. The side seam closes with a row of hook-and-eye closures. The gown’s architecture — sharp velvet against soft, draped crepe — captures the era’s love of contrast and body-skimming glamour. Impossibly elegant and flattering on. In excellent condition, freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear.
