Stunning 1950's black wool cocktail dress with detachable silk taffeta skirt from the exclusive Elizabeth Arden boutique in New York. Inspired by Dior, this new look era piece features a striking long sleeves wiggle dress with princess seams, a square neckline and buttons down the sides of the front. What makes this such a standout piece is the incredible silk taffeta full skirt that buttons to the skirt for an instant all out glamour look. I have never seen anything like it! Zips up the back with original metal zipper. In excellent condition, freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear. 

The Elizabeth Arden Salon launched an exclusive fashion line in New York in the early 1940's to cater to their elite clientele. The salon carried couture and ready to wear fashions designed by such luminaries as Charles James, Antonio Castillo and Ferdinando Sarmi.
