👋 A B O U T

A striking high-low evening gown in navy silk organza, structured with a boned strapless bodice and a dramatically sweeping skirt that dips long in back. The hem is finished with a bold chevron of alternating navy and white stripes, edged in delicate ivory lace, with a rich burgundy lining peeking through at the scalloped hem for a flash of contrast color. This piece comes from the atelier of Ruben Panis, the Manila-born couturier whose gowns were worn by Zsa Zsa Gabor and Elizabeth Taylor, and who was selected among an elite handful of California designers to dress Mayor Tom Bradley’s wife for the 1984 Olympics. Panis’s career and life were cut tragically short in 1989, making surviving pieces from his atelier rare. In overall excellent condition, freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear.
