Late 1930s Ella Frankl Wien Black Wool Crêpe Coat with Grosgrain Collar

A beautifully tailored late 1930s ladies' coat from Ella Frankl of Vienna, cut in the finest black wool crêpe with a soft, fluid hand. The sculpted bodice is built from stitched panels that gather into a defined waist, and attached self-fabric ties cinch and bow at the front for a flattering hourglass line. The lightly padded, puffed shoulders and the flared, fluid skirt are characteristic of the period. A wide grosgrain ribbon frames the plunging neckline and rises into a pleated stand-up collar at the back, a distinctive and unusual detail. The coat closes invisibly up the front with hidden hooks and eyes and is fully lined in silk. In excellent condition, freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear.

Condition:  Overall excellent, freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear. A couple small nibs on the back- only noticed upon close inspection, see close up pictures. Otherwise it looks like new. Wears and presents beautifully. 

All of our pieces are thoroughly inspected and repaired by our in house professional seamstress prior to shipping to ensure your garment is in ready to wear condition upon arrival. We ship our items out on Thursdays. Please allow extra time for wedding dresses and large orders.
