A fabulous mid-century cloche style hat from milliner Stuart Original, built entirely from a dense thatch of dyed coq and goose feathers in electric turquoise and crimson, worked over black in a swirling, almost painterly pattern that radiates from the center point at the crown. The whole surface is veiled in fine black chenille-dotted netting. A black grosgrain ribbon band wraps the base of the crown, and the short brim continues the same feather-and-net treatment, with longer feather tips fringing the edge. Built on a sold black felted base. In excellent condition.
