A beautifully preserved 1930s ermine fur coat in a rare shade of warm ivory. Crafted from luminous ivory ermine pelts, this swing style coat features a softly folded collar that frames the neckline with understated sophistication. Short balloon sleeves add sculptural volume, creating a graceful contrast to the clean, fluid body. The vertical pelt construction enhances the coat’s length and movement, while the slightly above knee-length silhouette offers both warmth and refined proportion. There are no closures on this coat, cut full enough to wrap around the wearer. Fully lined in silky ivory satin and retaining its original Jorray Furs, New York label, this piece reflects exceptional craftsmanship. In excellent condition, fresh from the estate of the original owner. Perfect for a winter wedding or gala. 

*Ermine is the winter coat of the stoat, which turns white only in cold climates and for a limited season. Historically, producing a single full-length ermine garment required hundreds of pelts, each small and painstakingly matched for color and texture. This labor-intensive process made ermine significantly more costly than fox, mink, or rabbit, and comparable at times to the highest grades of sable. Even in the early 20th century, ermine was considered a prestige fur, often reserved for custom commissions from elite furriers rather than mass production. Today, authentic antique ermine garments are increasingly rare.
