The print alone would make this dress a standout — an all-over photographic trellis of teal soutache-style scrollwork on crisp ivory polished cotton, the kind of graphic, almost Baroque pattern that Alix of Miami executed with such confident flair in the mid-1950s. 
The silhouette is pure 1950s cocktail glamour — a wide bateau neckline, cap sleeves, and a fitted bodice that drops to a low pointed peplum hip before releasing into a sweeping pleated full skirt. The bodice construction is exceptional, with the scrollwork motifs used deliberately to frame the waist and emphasize the hourglass line. Delicate colored pearls decorate the bodice. Fully lined interior, with a layer of netting in the skirt. Zips up the back with original metal zipper. In excellent condition, freshly cleaned and ready to wear.
