Absolutely stunning but as-is early 1950's black cocktail dress by French designer Jacques Fath. The star here is the dramatic off-shoulder capelet — a wide, swooping surplice collar that wraps the shoulders and closes double-breasted down the bodice with large black buttons, its hem finished in dense black fringe. Beneath it, the silhouette is pure hourglass: a nipped waist opening into a sweeping full circle skirt. The dress is made of silk and zips up the side. Being offered as-is due to clumsy repairs at the side where the zipper and arm hole is and minor signs of wear. Fortunately, the collar completely hides them so they are not visible when worn. See close up pictures. Otherwise freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear. Wears and presents beautifully.
