An exceedingly glamorous strapless sarong dress in black-and-white printed cotton, labeled Vic Trent New York and dating to the mid-1950s. The print is a dense allover abstract pattern — flowers, birds, ships and scrolling botanical forms rendered in fine black line work on a white ground — the kind of graphic print that reads almost like woodblock or toile from a distance but reveals remarkable detail up close. The bodice is boned and cut to a sweetheart neckline; the skirt wraps to one side and gathers in a loose, draped bow at the hip, giving the silhouette its sarong character. The dress is studded in sparkling pronged rhinestones. A matching wrap, lined in solid red, completes the ensemble and would have been the piece that made this a proper evening set. In excellent condition, freshly cleaned and ready to wear.
