A wicked little 1950's dress done in a tight black and white gingham check cotton. The high button-front collar and long sleeves with gathered lace-edged cuffs give it that schoolmarm severity, while the cascading black lace-trimmed ruffle bib running down the bodice adds a Victorian-revival flourish — a popular device in ’50s dresses referencing 19th-century mourning and governess dress. Fitted bodice, natural waist, and a seriously full skirt with deep pleating, structured enough to hold its shape on its own. Small pointed collar, covered button placket, side metal zipper closure. In overall excellent condition, freshly cleaned and ready to wear.
