Rich black velvet is embroidered in gold bullion thread with sprays of leaves, each one hand-stitched in that unmistakable metallic thread-painting technique, while clusters of seed-beaded white flowers with sunny yellow centers bloom across the lid and front panel. The rigid box construction gives it real presence on the arm, closing with a chased brass frame and an engraved floral push clasp. Open it up and you’re greeted with a fitted mirror and gold-tone chain pull tab — a lovely finishing touch that speaks to the quality of construction.
