A fabulous example of midcentury tailoring, this 1950s wool sheath dress embodies the understated elegance of the era’s finest dressmakers. Expertly crafted in a smooth, light-weight wool in a distinctive shade of azure blue, the dress is designed to sculpt and flatter the figure with effortless precision.

The high, softly rolled neckline and three-quarter sleeves frame the fitted bodice, which nips in neatly at the waist and ties with a charming self-fabric bow. A double row of large buttons runs down the front of the skirt, creating the illusion of a double-breasted design while elongating the silhouette. The skirt tapers to a modest hem with a center back vent for ease of movement.

Fully lined and finished with a back metal zipper, this impeccably made dress reflects the quiet sophistication of late 1950s couture-inspired daywear—streamlined, structured, and unmistakably elegant. Appears to have been made by a high end designer. In overall excellent condition, freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear.
