🏷 A B O U T

Fabulous and sought after circa 1954 Tina Leser Original ice blue silk hostess dress embroidered with gold starbursts and featuring a pellon lined full skirt and side pockets. Made by renowned designer Tina Leser who holds a place in fashion history for her inventive designs and use of rare imported materials. Inspired by her many travels this piece is reminiscent of Indian sari silk designs and has a distinctive East meets West feel. Well preserved through the years. In overall excellent condition, freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear.

A little info about the Tina Leser Original label via FIDM Museum:

"The Tina Leser skirt seen in these photos is labeled a “Tina Leser Original.” During the 1950s, if a designer’s name was paired with “original” on the garment label, it designated a ready-to-wear garment produced in extremely limited quantities and available only at select stores. Bridging the gap between custom made haute couture and widely available ready-to-wear, the buyer of an “original” garment was unlikely to encounter another women wearing the same model."
