Stunning antique silk Chinese jacket featuring hand embroidered birds and foliage. The prominent bird decorating the back appears to be a pheasant or perhaps a mythical phoenix about to kill a grasshopper. Set against a pale silver blue silk background with a soft color scheme in shades of green, taupe, mauve, ivory and brown. Frog closures up the front. I do not know the exact date on the jacket but I would guess it was made in the 30's or 40's out of an older textile. A true work of art, in excellent condition.
