1950s Elizabeth Arden, New York Silk Party Dress

A fabulous fuchsia silk dress from Elizabeth Arden’s legendary fashion salon, in a lustrous silk taffeta with an abstract violet floral print throughout. The fitted bodice is boned/darted for a sculpted, wasp-waisted fit, with a wide bateau neckline and scooped-low back. The full skirt is pleated at the waist for volume, and finished at the back with a striking oversized bow. The skirt is double lined with netting for volume and structure. Side metal zipper closure. A glamorous example of American demi-couture from the era when Elizabeth Arden’s fashion division rivaled the top Seventh Avenue houses. In overall excellent condition, freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear.
