An absolutely divine 1940s silk evening gown, this piece captures the drama and romance of the decade with its fluid movement, sculptural draping, and painterly floral print. Cut from weightless black silk crepe printed with bold red roses and thorny vines, the gown skims the bodice before falling into a long, swirling skirt that dips a bit higher in the front.

The bodice features narrow straps, interior boning and a beautifully gathered bust panel—classic 1940s construction designed to frame the décolletage while elongating the torso. A Talon metal zipper up the back. The matching silk shawl adds a couture flourish: exceptionally long and generous, it can be styled in myriad ways—wrapped Grecian-style across one shoulder, draped symmetrically, tied as a flowing back bow, or worn free for effortless Hollywood glamour. Shown here with a vintage rhinestone buckle (used for styling and included with purchase), the shawl transforms instantly into an asymmetric, red-carpet-worthy statement.
