Rare and iconic, vintage hand-cast Navajo cuff signed R.S. Mitchell — the mark of Reginald Mitchell, a fifth-generation Diné silversmith working in the sand and tufa casting tradition passed down from his father, master silversmith Eugene Mitchell. The cuff is built from heavy sandcast sterling, its open scrollwork and stamped fan motifs giving it real dimension and weight in the hand. A single natural turquoise stone, high-domed and set in a hand-twisted rope bezel is the centerpiece. The stone reads a warm sea-green with sparse, feathery tan matrix running through it in thin veining — no dye pooling or plastic shine, consistent with natural, well-hardened material. Deliberate oxidation in the recesses brings out the depth of the casting and stamping throughout. This is a piece with real heft and presence on the wrist. In excellent condition.
