The quintessential 1950's strapless party dress in crisp white cotton printed with navy polka dots, by Fred Perlberg. The bodice is shaped with an architectural pointed sweetheart neckline — the zigzag peaks giving it a distinctly playful, flirtatious edge — and structured internally with boning. The waist is accented at the back with a big bow and draped sash that gathers into a fan of knife pleats, adding volume and movement to the full circle skirt. Original metal zipper up the back. The construction is substantial: net crinoline underlining the skirt, seam-taped interior, and the kind of built-in foundation work that speaks to mid-century American party dress manufacturing at its most accomplished. The epitome of 1950's summer time glamour. In excellent condition, clean and ready to wear.
