Rare and spectacular couture 1950's party dress by Sophie Gimbel of Saks Fifth Ave. A museum worthy dress by one of the most celebrated designers of the midcentury. Composed of a luxurious ribbed silk satin in a lush floral print. Featuring a fitted waist with boning for structure and support, a semi full skirt swathed in dramatic pleated folds that come together in the back to form a bow. Original metal zipper up the back. Fully lined interior, all silk with hand stitching throughout. In excellent condition, freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear.
