Absolutely divine early 1950's Lilli Ann suit from the "New Look" era of fashion. Dramatic wasp waist fitted jacket with black velvet shawl collar in a ribbed wool woven with lighter brown threads. The jacket is sculptural and has sloped shoulders, long dolman sleeves and buttons low in the front. This creates the ultimate hourglass silhouette. The jacket can be worn with the collar lifted for a more buttoned up look or open over the shoulders creating a plunging neckline. The skirt has a high waist and is fitted. Zips up the side with original metal zipper. The jacket is fully lined. Both pieces are in excellent condition.
