A gorgeous vintage swing cape in rich ruby silk velvet, cut wide through the body with softly padded shoulders and a bold notched collar. Two oversized velvet-covered buttons close the front, and the hand-stitched detail on the collar and shoulder yokes shows real tailoring. The back has a distinctive V-shaped yoke seam that adds structure, and the pile has the deep, liquid movement you only get with old silk velvet. Lined in matching taffeta with shoulder straps, it's a wonderful topper for evening or over a print dress, as styled here.
