A gorgeous and rare dress from the late 1920’s. This beautiful dress is made from gossamer-fine silk chiffon printed with a rich floral bouquet —  daisies, and mixed blossoms in coral, gold, and dusty lavender scattered across a black ground. The sheer chiffon is layered over a blush silk lining at the bodice in a soft sweetheart shape, giving the illusion of the print floating against skin.

The silhouette is quintessential 1920s: a dropped waist with gently gathered ruching at the hip, and a tiered, handkerchief-style skirt that falls in soft asymmetric points. Long sheer sleeves add movement and drama. At the back, a cape-like overlay of chiffon drapes from the shoulders, adding a fluttering, ethereal quality as the wearer moves. The neckline ties at the front with a delicate self-fabric cord. Slips on effortlessly over the head. Shoulder seams are finish in order to make it easy to remove the sleeves in warmer weather. Rare to find a dress from this time period in such excellent condition, clean and ready to wear.
