A true showstopper from the hand of Hollywood's legendary Irene. Sheer black silk net floats over a nude silk crepe sheath, so the lace seems to drift on the skin. Lavish corded lace appliqués of leaves and blossoms cascade the length of the skirt. Ribbons of lace sweep across the bodice in a dramatic V and cinch the waist into a perfect hourglass. Illusion flutter sleeves with embroidered scalloped edges frame the shoulders, and the neckline dips into a scalloped V in front and a daring plunge in back. The scalloped lace hem finishes it with a flourish. Every inch is couture-level artistry, the kind of dress that stops a room. In excellent condition, freshly cleaned and ready to wear. 

 About Irene: Irene Lentz (1901–1962) began as a Hollywood actress before opening her own boutique. She then led the custom salon at Bullocks-Wilshire, dressing Los Angeles society and film stars. In 1942 she became chief costume designer at MGM, succeeding the great Adrian, and was later Academy Award-nominated for her film work. Her Bullocks-Wilshire creations are treasured for their impeccable construction and exquisite lace work. Her pieces are held in museums and private collections. A true investment piece.
