A beautiful and rare 1956 Nettie Rosenstein dress in black silk shantung, printed with painterly cerise and pink roses on olive-green stems. I. Magnin & Co. advertised the design that year as a stem-slender silk shantung dress, with its fullness swept to the back. The bodice is fitted, with a jewel neckline finished in black piping and a tie at the back of the neck. The slim front skirt gives way to pleats swept into fullness at center back. The roses are placed like a bouquet down the bodice, sleeves, and skirt, and the dress closes with a center back zipper.

Condition:  overall excellent, minor signs of wear typical of age. One tiny pin hole on the center front bodice. Only noticed upon close inspection. Wears and presents beautifully. The hem could be let down 3" in need be.
