1930s French Vanilla Silk Chiffon Peignoir Set with Honeycomb Smocking

A dreamy silk chiffon peignoir set from the 1930s, built entirely around hand-worked honeycomb smocking that cinches the bodice and waist into a diamond lattice of impossible beauty. The gown is sleeveless with a soft V neckline, delicate floral embroidery at the shoulders, and a fluid gathered skirt that falls into a scalloped hem — the sheerness of the chiffon giving it real movement on the body. The matching robe layers over it with long, gently gathered sleeves and the same honeycomb bodice, closing at the center front with a row of tiny fabric-covered buttons. This is the kind of hand-smocking rarely seen outside couture-level lingerie of the era — every diamond stitched by hand to hold the shape. In excellent condition, freshly cleaned and ready to wear.

The set has a lot of stretch and can accommodate a wide range of sizes. I think it was originally intended to fit a small to medium size- however it can stretch up to an XL due to the smocking.

Material: silk interior, imported lace, sequins 
Condition:  excellent, freshly cleaned and ready to wear. Only the most minor signs of wear typical of age. A couple tiny tiny pin size holes in the skirt.
