A truly rare and exceptional example of Lilli Ann's New Look-era mastery, and one of the more unusual and beautiful fabrics I’ve encountered in a Lilli Ann. The coat is cut in a dramatic princess silhouette — nipped, fitted waist flaring into a full, swinging skirt — with a generous shawl collar and long dolman sleeves that taper elegantly to the wrist. Two fabric-covered buttons close the double-breasted waist.

The fabric itself is amazing: a slubbed, hand-loomed mohair and wool tweed shot through with metallic gold thread, woven in shifting bands of sage green, periwinkle, and cream. The tag confirms it was loomed in Paris — "Luxurious Fabric of France" — a specialty import Lilli Ann was known to source for its most special pieces, underscoring the label's French couture aspirations even while manufacturing stateside. The coat is fully lined in a shimmering iridescent orchid taffeta that flashes pink and violet as it moves, a luxe finishing touch that adds glamour and drama. The coat features hidden pockets at the side and is in overall excellent condition. Freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear.

Condition: excellent overall with minor signs of wear, faint stain on the bottom half of the front lapel, only seen upon close inspection. One of the buttons is fraying at the sides as is the button hole. See close up pictures. Wears and presents beautifully.
