Don Loper of California Swing Coat, 1950s

A full, sweeping 1950s coat by Don Loper, the Hollywood couturier known for dressing screen stars. It's cut in a dramatic flared A-line, with lots of sweep at the back and clean lines from the shoulder. The nubby slate-blue wool has a soft slubbed texture. A small rounded collar ties at the neck with a self-fabric cord bow with knotted ends. The coat opens to a silk lining printed with cream wheat and grasses on blue, which creates a striking reveal. Side pockets for convenience. In overall excellent condition, freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear,
