A B O U T

Absolutely stunning 1940's WWII era fashion from one of the nations top designers at the time. Louise Barnes Gallagher was a model/stylist turned owner of her own design house starting in 1924. Her popularity rose during WWII when the Parisian couture houses closed and her designs fulfilled a need. Her dresses, suits and coats were very expensive at the time and one of her design signatures was using lots and lots of buttons!

We are excited to have a beautiful example of her work here at the shop. Made from an ultra soft lightweight wool and featuring a military inspired bodice with hammered silver buttons up the side and along the neckline. Padded shoulders, a nipped in belted waist and sewn in fine pleats in the semi full skirt. In excellent condition, freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear.
