1960s Jackie Kennedy Era Black Silk Cocktail Dress & Cape-Back Jacket Set

Elegant early ‘60s two-piece ensemble in black silk, capturing the polished, ladylike silhouette so associated with Jackie Kennedy’s timeless style. The sleeveless sheath dress has a scoop neckline, fitted princess-seamed bodice, and a slim skirt that falls to knee length. The skirt is lined and closes with a back zipper. The bodice of the dress serves more as an under dress and was originally designed to be worn underneath rather than on its own. 

The jacket is the standout piece: fitted and structured through the front with a stand collar and three-quarter sleeves, closing center front with three rhinestone-cluster buttons. The back opens into a loose, swingy cape silhouette that falls from the shoulders, creating dramatic movement and a striking contrast to the tailored front. Interior is fully lined. In excellent condition, freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear.
