A rare 1920s cocktail dress in black silk satin, cut in the classic drop-waist flapper silhouette. A sheer devoré velvet panel runs down the center front, its burnout pattern set against a sheer black ground, and a matching devoré band wraps the hip yoke above a flounced hem. Self-fabric ties at the waist let you wear it two ways: knotted at center front, or crossed and tied at center back for a different line. The dress slips on over the head, has short cuffed sleeves, and is in excellent condition for its age.
