A darling study in color-blocking from Arthur’s of Spokane — this early ‘60s party dress moves through three shades of purple, from pale lavender at the bodice down to a rich, deep-purple velvet hem. It’s a striking, sophisticated take on the fit-and-flare silhouette that defined the era.

The fitted bodice is cut in a smooth silvery-lavender satin with a flattering boat neckline and tailored elbow-length sleeves, nipping in at a princess-seamed waist before the skirt blooms into a full, pleated shape. The skirt itself is where the dress really shines: a soft lavender satin band gives way to plush purple velvet at the hem, with a coordinating satin bow anchoring the back waist for a sweet finishing touch. Fully lined, with the original zipper closing up the back. In very good condition, freshly dry cleaned and ready to wear.
